Description

Interested in teaching at a Liberal Arts College, but not sure what to expect? Join us for a morning discussion and networking lunch with faculty and administrators from Middlebury College and Williams College, who represent LADO (Liberal Arts Diversity Officers), a consortium of 24 liberal arts colleges and universities. This is an opportunity to learn about careers at liberal arts colleges and to get specific advice about how to prepare for the application process in advance as well as when you are actually ready to enter the job market.

We encourage graduate students and postdocs, even if they are not yet on the job market, to attend. Lunch will be provided.

Schedule:

9:00 - 9:15 am: Welcome & Introduction of LADO and panelists

9:15 - 10:30 am: Building a Career at a Liberal Arts College Panel, featuring:

  • Miguel Fernández, Chief Diversity Officer, Professor of Spanish, Middlebury College
  • Lee Park, Associate Dean of Faculty and Professor of Chemistry, Williams College
  • Leticia Arroyo Abad, Assistant Professor of Economics, Middlebury College
  • C. Ondine Chavoya, Professor of Art History and Latina/o Studies at Williams College
